Wilhelm Nienhaus started the match with the kick off. Rune Jarstein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rune Jarstein having to make a save. Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 13th minute of play. Rune Jarstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Montenegro in the 15th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Wilhelm Nienhaus dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pedro Manzanares, 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Hertha 1969's zone, Axel Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rune Jarstein came out of the goal and Axel Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rune Jarstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Montenegro in the 27th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Rune Jarstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute of the match Colombia got a corner. Hertha 1969's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Montenegro ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Hertha 1969 booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santino Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 38th minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santino Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Rune Jarstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 44th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abram Sarmiento made a kick off. In the 57th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jarstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Paulo da Silva came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rune Jarstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santino Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 66th minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Axel Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Rune Jarstein made a huge save. Rune Jarstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santino Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Colombia's Axel Montenegro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rune Jarstein. That made the score 2-1 after 73 minutes of play. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Hertha 1969 made a substitution. Stefan Mayer replaced Lüder Roppel. Abram Secada's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Rune Jarstein skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rune Jarstein was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Abram Secada capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Abram Secada really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Rune Jarstein made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 92nd minute. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gigel Elenescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
