When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Miguel Miralles took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ionel Cocea to make any attempt to save it. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ionel Cocea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the game, altos angeles's Vennancio Antecha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 36 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Iratzeder Vascones came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isidoro Sarmiento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ionel Cocea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Panama's Jose Carita got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 46th match minute, altos angeles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iratzeder Vascones to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Berganza to make the kick off. Abraham Alguacil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ionel Cocea having to interfere. The supporters of Panama booed when altos angeles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blasi Omente didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the match, altos angeles's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Ionel Cocea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
