Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kant Cooley in the 7th minute of play. After 8 played minutes Coventry Wasps got a freekick which was hit by Cornelius Baxter. Zack Doughty sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zhao Ran Ming stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Monty Rogers's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kant Cooley in the 17th minute of play. Zhao Ran Ming took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes into the match, Coventry Wasps's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Zhao Ran Ming reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacob May's late challenge caught a Coventry Wasps's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacob May helped the player get up and apologised. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Marco Day stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kant Cooley's shot from short distance in the 50th minute. After 52 played minutes USA got a freekick which was hit by Jacob May. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camilo Ferrara, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 60th minute, Kant Cooley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Day was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 65th minute of play forced Coventry Wasps's goalkeeper Zhao Ran Ming to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute, USA's Cassius Byrne ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zhao Ran Ming. Zhao Ran Ming yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. 74 minutes into the game, Coventry Wasps's Zack Doughty nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marco Day made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zack Doughty during the 79th minute. After a rather tough play, Coventry Wasps's Zack Doughty got a free kick in the 80th minute. USA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jenson Smith in the 91st minute. The corner led USA's Jenson Smith to fire away a dangerous shot which Zhao Ran Ming despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Sam Campbell could shoot a difficult shot in the 93rd minute, which Zhao Ran Ming however easily saved by the left post.
