Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigel Elenescu in the 21st minute of the match. Rune Jarstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 26 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Rune Jarstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilhelm Nienhaus, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Moises Gayoso made in the 34th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Luz Tejedor however managed to control. Gigel Elenescu was extremely unlucky when he, in the 37th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Rune Jarstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 38th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Julian Murillo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Rune Jarstein. Zé Paulo da Silva took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 46 minutes into the game, one of Peru:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 48 minutes Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa managed, with a little bit of luck, save Wilhelm Nienhaus's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. Wilhelm Nienhaus did an outstanding performance 48 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 2-1 to the right of an irritated Rolando Noboa in the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The supporters of Hertha 1969 booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquin Prats didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute of the game Lüder Roppel made a throw-in which Emilio Melzer played forward. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigel Elenescu in the 61st minute of the match. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo da Silva in the 64th minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilhelm Nienhaus, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Rune Jarstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 69th minute of the match. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Rune Jarstein made a huge save. 81 minutes into the game, Lüder Roppel threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 86th minute Wilhelm Nienhaus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. 89 minutes into the game, Lüder Roppel threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Rune Jarstein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Gallo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Peru players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Hertha 1969.
