Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Romário Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 6th minute Coice de Mula were awarded a corner. Faiz Peng went to the cornerflag to take it. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Coice de Mula's Romário Custódio got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Custódio in the 15th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Romário Custódio in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 26 minutes into the match, Coice de Mula's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Gianluigi Orange reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elano Salgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 30th minute. When Romário Custódio came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Coice de Mula fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romário Custódio couldn't finish the play. Gianluigi Orange took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Gianluigi Orange tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho scored 1-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gianluigi Orange, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 42nd minute, Alin Sima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gianluigi Orange. Coice de Mula's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 47 played minutes Coice de Mula got a freekick which was hit by Norbert Kosowski. Coice de Mula made a substitution. Per-Oskar Kihlberg replaced Romário Custódio. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Coice de Mula was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 49 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norbert Kosowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Téo Massa made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Téo Massa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Coice de Mula's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Agustín Saelices scored to the left of an out of position Gianluigi Orange, making the score, 1-2. The audience was convinced that Téo Massa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Faiz Peng kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. If Téo Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! 87 minutes into the match, Téo Massa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Téo Massa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. In the 90th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gianluigi Orange. Gianluigi Orange yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-3. Coice de Mula's Téo Massa got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alin Sima charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alin Sima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Coice de Mula getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Alin Sima hit a great ball. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
