An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play forced S.D NARCEA's goalkeeper Germán Figueres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Germán Figueres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 27 minutes, Manel Quintanilla mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.D NARCEA and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Manel Quintanilla hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After 33 minutes of play, S.D NARCEA's Manel Quintanilla made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Germán Figueres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Calisto Zaplana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

With a little luck, S.D NARCEA's Germán Figueres got control of the ball when Agustín Saelices tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Germán Figueres however easily saved by the left post. Germán Figueres was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 85 minute of play. In the 92nd match minute, S.D NARCEA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pietro Macia to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
