Atlético Capixaba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmundo Espiga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute of the game Ivan Navarro made a throw-in which Sebastian Villa played forward. Sebastian Villa struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Patrick Teles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Edmundo Espiga sped through Atlético Capixaba's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Patrick Teles. Patrick Teles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Villa went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Patrick Teles came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Honduras's Edmundo Espiga. But to his dismay, Edmundo Espiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. In the 39th minute, Edmundo Espiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Patrick Teles was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. Patrick Teles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 42nd minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-10.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Durvalino Torres made a kick off. Patrick Teles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Patrick Teles, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Atlético Capixaba's Patrick Teles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Capixaba from getting a goal against them. In the 81stth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Capixaba's Patrick Teles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A hard shot by Valentín Carvallo from long distance, 95 minutes into the match, got Patrick Teles's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Edmundo Espiga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Patrick Teles made a huge save. The Atlético Capixaba fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Honduras were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
