If Per-Arne Delin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 11 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Maria Souza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute of play forced Talento Futebol clube's goalkeeper José Maria Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tadeu Bastos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Maria Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When Cristian Sancho fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Cristian Sancho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Maria Souza came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A hard shot 30 in the game by Per-Arne Delin from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. Per-Arne Delins short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 34 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Maria Souza. Talento Futebol clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Talento Futebol clube's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Maria Souza came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Per-Arne Delin was the one to do the kick off. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Maria Souza was out of position in the 62 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per-Arne Delin in the 65th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Talento Futebol clube's goalkeeper José Maria Souza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. 69 minutes had been played when some careless play by Talento Futebol clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Talento Futebol clube's goalkeeper José Maria Souza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Talento Futebol clube's Gabriel Hoffmann got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 75th minute of the match, Cristian Sancho got a very nice opportunity to score, but José Maria Souza was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 78 played minutes Talento Futebol clube got a freekick which was hit by Gualter Proença. After a rather tough play, Talento Futebol clube's Gabriel Hoffmann got a free kick in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Talento Futebol clube's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but José Maria Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Tadeu Bastos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Talento Futebol clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Cristian Sancho's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but José Maria Souza firmly grabbed it by the left post. José Maria Souza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 88th minute. Antonio Arias hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute, Gabriel Hoffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
