Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Ekrot having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcus Ekrot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonardo Trancoso in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Trancoso in the 22nd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 27th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Vykans Vikingar's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Marcus Ekrot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Vykans Vikingar's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Marcus Ekrot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonardo Trancoso to make the kick off. Lautaro Mancebo might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcus Ekrot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Mancebo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 57th minute, Facundo Cadaval hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vykans Vikingar made a substitution. Martin Mutumba replaced Faas Wilkes. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdi Revis in the 59th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luca Rouco hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute, Fernan Berart made a precise shot to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abdi Revis, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 65 minutes into the game, Vykans Vikingar's Martin Mutumba nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Trancoso in the 69th minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Mutumba, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Luca Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Marcus Ekrot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Vykans Vikingar's Jose Indalecio got a free kick in the 76th minute. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 86th minute, Fernan Berart hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Mutumba in the 90th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mexico players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vykans Vikingar.
