Mariano Lacasa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 85th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 86 played minutes SE Palestra Itália got a freekick which was hit by Konstantin Gorobchenko. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tony Chaves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. If Bruno Campon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edson Fernandes charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edson Fernandes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to SE Palestra Itália getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Edson Fernandes hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Mendes in the 98th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The SE Palestra Itália supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Chile's performance. The match ended with a win for Chile.
