Antonio Arias helped the player get up and apologised. Abuba Akotonon FC made a substitution. Ramón Garay replaced Cecilio Tristan. After 13 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. In the 14th match minute, Abuba Akotonon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vânderson Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emiliano Enol went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Ramón Garay scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 24 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ramón Garay came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 25 in the game by Daniel Zorita from a close distance when the talented Hugo Orlando Gatti managed to make a qualified save. Abuba Akotonon FC's players were relieved. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Orlando Gatti having to interfere. In the 48th minute, Ramón Garay made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. The Ecuador players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Abuba Akotonon FC were winning 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ramón Garay stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Vânderson Barbosa sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 59th minute of play forced Abuba Akotonon FC's goalkeeper Hugo Orlando Gatti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hugo Orlando Gatti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chants of Abuba Akotonon FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Ecuador had held the ball for most of the match.
