Spectators: 52 (Terracing: 39, Seating: 12, VIP seats: 1) Peru's Julian Murillo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 6th minute of play. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson. But to his dismay, Sven-Edvin Jansson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. GuateFortín made a substitution. Severo Rameriz replaced Stanyo Búnkov. Nery Pumpido didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Murillo went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The throw-in from Danilo Ocampo in the 18th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Sven-Edvin Jansson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Nery Pumpido stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Sven-Edvin Jansson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. When GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Peru's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 37th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Máximo Perrone hit a great ball. The GuateFortín players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peru were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sven-Edvin Jansson to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nery Pumpido was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. 57 minutes into the match, Sven-Edvin Jansson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sven-Edvin Jansson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Luz Tejedor scored 2-3 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nery Pumpido, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. GuateFortín's Mario Gomez was substituted for Thierry Henry. GuateFortín made a substitution. Pablo Mora replaced Máximo Perrone. 67 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. If Milagros Fraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Milagros Fraga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nery Pumpido having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Julian Murillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Rafael Gallo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafael Gallo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Nery Pumpido made a huge save. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
