In the 41st minute of the game, Eliseo Mina landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Fabio Regis charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabio Regis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fabio Regis kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Velez sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Alcocer came free, but Narciso Frechoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Velez sarsfield's goalkeeper Narciso Frechoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Velez sarsfield's Walter Pico was substituted for Qin Kun Xi. A sloppy throw-in by Emmanuel Reyes in the 73rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Velez sarsfield's Fabio Regis. Narciso Frechoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Narciso Frechoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 78th minute of the match. Luz Tejedor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Narciso Frechoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Joaquin Prats fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Narciso Frechoso quite easily take care of the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Velez sarsfield's goalkeeper Narciso Frechoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafael Gallo. In the 96th minute Walter Pico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
