Enrique Enoch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Mina, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After some careless play in the union española s.a. defense, Eliseo Mina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enrique Enoch. The union española s.a. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enrique Enoch should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 16th minute of play forced union española s.a.'s goalkeeper Enrique Enoch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's Alonso Berganza managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Adelino Nordon in the 19 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 20th minute of play forced union española s.a.'s goalkeeper Enrique Enoch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 24 minutes of play, Peru's Julian Murillo made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Enrique Enoch was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Peru booed when union española s.a. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zenaido Vigil didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Peru fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Peru's Julian Murillo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 34th match minute, union española s.a. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zenaido Vigil to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind union española s.a.'s goalkeeper Enrique Enoch, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Anthony Alvarado's late challenge caught a union española s.a.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anthony Alvarado helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Peru's Anthony Alvarado got a free kick in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the game, Stig Malmgren cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Rolando Noboa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enrique Enoch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 46th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Joaquin Prats hit a great ball. In the 52nd minute Fidel Bruggink shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Enoch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Stig Malmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Enrique Enoch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 56th minute of the match. Enrique Enoch came out of the goal and Julian Murillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rolando Noboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stig Malmgren went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stig Malmgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 79th minute of play forced union española s.a.'s goalkeeper Enrique Enoch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru's Alonso Berganza quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Zenaido Vigil, made in the 82nd minute of the game. Rafael Gallo took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Enrique Enoch. Enrique Enoch dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-6. In the 85th minute, Joaquin Prats hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 87 minutes into the match, Stig Malmgren had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stig Malmgren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-6. Rafael Gallo scored 3-7 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enrique Enoch, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Peru played a much better game than union española s.a. and deserved their victory. The union española s.a. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
