The audience thought a goal was coming when José Bomba got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as F.C. Paços de Ferreira's José Bomba slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 after 16 minutes of play. In the 20thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Miguel Poças was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Poças having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves José Bomba could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. Paços de Ferreira's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Poças came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José Bomba's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. In the 29th match minute, F.C. Paços de Ferreira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Tudor to maneuver through the defense. The throw-in from Guillermo Mariano in the 31st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Inácio Secco. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. José Bomba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Bomba in the 41st minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jose Correa's late challenge caught a F.C. Paços de Ferreira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Correa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute Inácio Secco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paços de Ferreira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Secco didn't get a good kick on the ball. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Miguel Poças proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save F.C. Paços de Ferreira from getting a goal against them. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Poças. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Patricio Costa scored 2-1 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Miguel Poças, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. José Bomba scored 3-1 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that José Bomba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. F.C. Paços de Ferreira had played much better football throughout.
