The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. PACIFIC FC's Carlos Casasola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 3rd minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Moises Villalcazar. In the 6th minute, Francisco Ferreros fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Carlos Casasola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Xefe Azpeitia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. In the 13th minute of the match, Moises Villalcazar got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dante Lacasa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Carlos Casasola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Aguirre Grandoso hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Carlos Casasola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 34th minute of the match. The corner led Mexico's Luca Rouco to fire away a dangerous shot which Carlos Casasola despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Moises Villalcazar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. In the 43rd minute, Aguirre Grandoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Casasola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moises Villalcazar was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Casasola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Carlos Casasola made a huge save. When Nestor Hernani fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PACIFIC FC's protests and gave Nestor Hernani a yellow card for diving instead. Nestor Hernani kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xefe Azpeitia in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 88th minute Francisco Ferreros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, PACIFIC FC's Anibal Serrano got a free kick in the 94th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mexico walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
