Themos Proedropoulos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Julio Vera was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Themos Proedropoulos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 25 minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Olympiacos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexis Kotsanakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute, Themos Proedropoulos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Olympiacos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. With a little luck, Olympiacos FC's Olívio Correia got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Olívio Correia was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Felix Montenegro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal.
