José Paulo Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Retumbante FC's goalkeeper Apat Reina, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute. Retumbante FC were furious when Basílio Cearense was red carded, 19 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 31st minute of play forced Retumbante FC's goalkeeper Apat Reina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Belmiro Mello hit a great ball. 41 minutes into the match, Retumbante FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Apat Reina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 42 minutes Retumbante FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Retumbante FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fernando Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kauã Mandrak stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Kauã Mandrak came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Retumbante FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kauã Mandrak couldn't finish the play. Belmiro Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 69th minute of play forced Retumbante FC's goalkeeper Apat Reina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Retumbante FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by Retumbante FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Retumbante FC's Apat Reina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Retumbante FC from getting a goal against them. Apat Reina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 85th minute. Retumbante FC's Kauã Mandrak got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kauã Mandrak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Sancho scored 0-2 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Apat Reina, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador played a much better game than Retumbante FC and deserved their victory. The Retumbante FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
