Felix Luque hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Bengt-Rune Öman hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After 31 played minutes, Mexico's Joel Gaona shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mehmet Akif Ersoy came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexico reached it. Joel Gaona's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Mehmet Akif Ersoy - 1-2 was put on the score board in the 31st minute. Rodrigo Nestor's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodrigo Nestor helped the player get up and apologised. Rodrigo Nestor kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Mehmet Akif Ersoy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto Tafalla's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. A collision led to ZigZag Athletic getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Jerry Hedman hit a great ball. The ZigZag Athletic players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodrigo Nestor was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Luca Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mehmet Akif Ersoy. That made the score 1-3 in the 52 minute of play. With a little luck, ZigZag Athletic's Mehmet Akif Ersoy got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tiago Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. ZigZag Athletic's Per-Olof Brolin was substituted for Kjell Boberg. In the 61st match minute, ZigZag Athletic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiago Corrêa to maneuver through the defense. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiago Corrêa in the 63rd minute of play. Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mehmet Akif Ersoy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. After 68 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Mehmet Akif Ersoy to make any attempt to save it. Mehmet Akif Ersoy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 76th minute. A nice corner shot did that Joel Gaona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mehmet Akif Ersoy quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 84 minutes into the match, ZigZag Athletic's goalkeeper Mehmet Akif Ersoy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. In the 85th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Alberto Tafalla was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Mehmet Akif Ersoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicki Nick in the 88th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Facundo Cadaval hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the match, ZigZag Athletic's goalkeeper Mehmet Akif Ersoy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Facundo Cadaval.
