Dante Lacasa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Nestor in the 55th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ZigZag Athletic's Per-Olof Brolin was substituted for Kjell Boberg. Mehmet Akif Ersoy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 63rd minute of play. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. In the 74thth minute of the game Rodrigo Nestor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Corrêa in the 81st minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicki Nick in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mehmet Akif Ersoy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicki Nick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Mancebo couldn't finish the play. ZigZag Athletic made a substitution. Jesper Vollander replaced Nicki Nick. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
