Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 13 minutes into the match, Viktor Orbán notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Robin Olsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Robin Olsen made a huge save. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Djurgården Sthlm's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. At last the ball reached Cristian Sancho at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Djurgården Sthlm. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 27th minute. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joakim Häll was slow to take the kick. During this time Djurgården Sthlm's players had a chance to rest. 33 minutes into the game, Djurgården Sthlm's Kaloyan Dimovski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of play forced Djurgården Sthlm's goalkeeper Robin Olsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Djurgården Sthlm's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Robin Olsen made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viktor Orbán, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Robin Olsen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of play forced Djurgården Sthlm's goalkeeper Robin Olsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robin Olsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robin Olsen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Robin Olsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. If Viktor Orbán had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Djurgården Sthlm's Kaya Österberg got a free kick in the 79th minute. Djurgården Sthlm's Robin Olsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montes in the 86th minute of play. Robin Olsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 87th minute of play. After some careless play in the Djurgården Sthlm defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Robin Olsen. The Djurgården Sthlm fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robin Olsen should have stopped the shot. When Viktor Orbán came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Djurgården Sthlm fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viktor Orbán couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
