Maximo Horquizar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Maximo Horquizar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of play. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sporting Buceo's goalie prevented a goal. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Isaias Jakue went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Isaias Jakue succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 31st playminute. In the 34th minute Isaias Jakue shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Isaias Jakue got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 3-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isaias Jakue couldn't finish the play. Sporting Buceo's Charly Good was substituted for Filimon Gamburtsev. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charly Good, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xinto Carreiras in the 73rd minute of play. After 75 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Xinto Carreiras who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Sporting Buceo's Xinto Carreiras to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Maximo Horquizar, 3-1. Charly Good sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charly Good in the 93rd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Sporting Buceo's goalkeeper Maximo Horquizar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. When the referee blew the final whistle, Sporting Buceo could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
