He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Olympiacos FC reached it. Isidoro Sarmiento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexis Kotsanakis in the 15th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olívio Correia made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Abraham Alguacil sent off a good shot on target. Olympiacos FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Abraham Alguacil scored to the left of an out of position Olívio Correia, making the score, 1-0. Themos Proedropoulos might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Cotilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Themos Proedropoulos in the 27th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Isidoro Sarmiento took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Olívio Correia to make any attempt to save it. In the 35th minute, Themos Proedropoulos made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 58th minute, Tomas Berganza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the game, Themos Proedropoulos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcos Cotilla. Themos Proedropoulos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexis Kotsanakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexis Kotsanakis in the 70th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla was a little too slow when Themos Proedropoulos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 2-4. Olympiacos FC's Themos Proedropoulos got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alexis Kotsanakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Felipe Ros charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Olympiacos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Themos Proedropoulos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcos Cotilla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Themos Proedropoulos might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Cotilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Themos Proedropoulos ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcos Cotilla was a little too slow when Themos Proedropoulos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 2-5. After 98 played minutes Olympiacos FC got a freekick which was hit by Alexis Kotsanakis. The Panama supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Olympiacos FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Olympiacos FC.
