Marcel Bântu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Marcel Bântu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Fotbal Club Vaslui getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Mugurel Răduț hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Fotbal Club Vaslui defense, Camilo Franco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcel Bântu. The Fotbal Club Vaslui fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcel Bântu should have stopped the shot. Marcel Bântu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 36th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Francisco Seco made a precise shot to the right of Marcel Bântu. Fotbal Club Vaslui's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Francisco Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fotbal Club Vaslui's Marcel Bântu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 45th minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Cazalla couldn't finish the play. When Mugurel Răduț fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fotbal Club Vaslui's protests and gave Mugurel Răduț a yellow card for diving instead. Mugurel Răduț hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 66 minutes into the game, Uruguay's Francisco Seco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcel Bântu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. In the 69th minute, Kevin Carballal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Uruguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. Marcel Bântu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 75th minute. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Bântu having to interfere. During the 82nd minute of the match Bamidele Monday Vennegoor Of Hesselink completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bamidele Monday Vennegoor Of Hesselink a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 83 played minutes Fotbal Club Vaslui got a freekick which was hit by Bamidele Monday Vennegoor Of Hesselink. In the 88th minute, Maximiliano Escribano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maximiliano Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Bântu having to interfere. Mugurel Răduț was shown his second yellow card after 91 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Fotbal Club Vaslui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mugurel Răduț didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fotbal Club Vaslui's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Francisco Seco scored to the left of an out of position Marcel Bântu, making the score, 0-8. In the 97th minute, Camilo Franco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Uruguay's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
