Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marz Cañete to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Mauro Churruca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Demonde Jacobson was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Jamaall Padmore was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 77 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute of the match Ronaldo Bernaldo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Demonde Jacobson skillfully saved the ball.
