The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sigvard Edström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 11th match minute, AC Papaya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Odin to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 19 minutes, Nino de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC Papaya's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nino de Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AC Papaya's goalie prevented a goal. Sigvard Edström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Jonas Isaksson tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 26 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vilhelm Falkrans who took care of the corner kick. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nino de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nino de Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. AC Papaya's Sigvard Edström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nino de Alcântara in the 35th minute. Sigvard Edström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sigvard Edström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 45th match minute, AC Papaya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Eriksson to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After having played for 51 minutes, Nino de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 67thth minute of the game Nino de Alcântara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ivan Odin kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Sigvard Edström made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Sigvard Edström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 87th minute of the match. Camilo Gisbert charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Gisbert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AC Papaya:s goal. After a defensive mix-up in AC Papaya's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sigvard Edström came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AC Papaya.
