Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) FC Zorro's Viggo Jönsätt started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ivan Sjögren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 5 played minutes FC Zorro got a freekick which was hit by Viggo Jönsätt. Ivan Sjögren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute of play forced FC Zorro's goalkeeper Ivan Sjögren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Higinio Garci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ivan Sjögren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fathoni Andrich in the 23rd minute of play. In the 29th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Sjögren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustín Saelices was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Viggo Jönsätt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luis Andino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivan Sjögren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Higinio Garci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Higinio Garci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivan Sjögren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Ivan Sjögren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Ivan Sjögren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 52nd minute. If Higinio Garci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viggo Jönsätt, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 63rd minute, Sten Helström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a free kick in the 67th minute. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that FC Zorro's Ivan Sjögren managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience cheered loudly when Daniel Zorita's long shot in the 85th minute became 0-2 when the ball went to the left of and passed Ivan Sjögren. 91 minutes into the match, FC Zorro's goalkeeper Ivan Sjögren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 94th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. FC Zorro's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
