An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 3rd minute of play forced Vissefjärda IF's goalkeeper Ulrik Granqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luca Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Ulrik Granqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Fridlund in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Gaona to maneuver through the defense. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 龙雄鹏 in the 25th minute of the match. After 26th play minutes Michael Fridlund shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Dante Lacasa and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 29thth minute of the game Michael Fridlund who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nick Stark sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute Nick Stark shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulrik Granqvist was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alberto Tafalla showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 41 minute of play. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walery Teofila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Vissefjärda IF's zone, Luca Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulrik Granqvist came out of the goal and Luca Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Michael Fridlund to make the kick off. Ulrik Granqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Michael Fridlund's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Michael Fridlund helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Vissefjärda IF's Michael Fridlund got a free kick in the 84th minute. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after Vissefjärda IF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Vissefjärda IF's Ulrik Granqvist managed to reach the ball for a save. Ulrik Granqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Michael Fridlund came free with the goalkeeper in the 93rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dante Lacasa could save by the left post. Mexico walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
