Colombia's Orlando Tafalla managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Algot Markusson in the 33 minute of the game. 35 minutes into the match, Axel Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carl-Chester Vallgren. VBL Stockholm's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 47th minute Kevin Mastache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carl-Chester Vallgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Colombia were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Olov Johnsson made the kick off in the second half. Olov Johnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Secada in the 77th minute of play forced VBL Stockholm's goalkeeper Carl-Chester Vallgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the match, VBL Stockholm's Olov Johnsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Manzanares narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
