After taking down the ball on Costa Rica's corner Axel Tasis fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Epifanio Havier quite easily take care of the ball. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hugo Ferrant charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hugo Ferrant the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. A collision led to Club A. Independiente getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Generoso Blai hit a great ball. Juan Rubio's late challenge caught a Club A. Venancio Mirande looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Benito Sanz. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severino Eneto during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Severino Eneto hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Axel Tasis took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Epifanio Havier. Epifanio Havier dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rolando Victoro during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

In the 51st minute Eliseo Noboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Havier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 62 played minutes Eliseo Noboa rounded Club A. Independiente's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. Epifanio Havier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 67th minute of play. Costa Rica's Axel Tasis couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 70th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Club A.
