Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tomas Illescas started the match with the kick off. When Nicasio Felo fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Titanes Mayas's protests and gave Nicasio Felo a yellow card for diving instead. After 2 played minutes Titanes Mayas got a freekick which was hit by Nicasio Felo. Lázaro Jeraldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 7th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 8th minute. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lázaro Jeraldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 14th minute of play. In the 16thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Titanes Mayas's Lázaro Jeraldo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Hugo Lastur managed to get in a good position for a shot. Titanes Mayas's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Lastur was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 19th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Jeraldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lázaro Jeraldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 23rd minute. The corner ended in Tomas Illescas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Titanes Mayas's Lázaro Jeraldo did a great save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joshua Secada in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lázaro Jeraldo saved Titanes Mayas from getting behind. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Lázaro Jeraldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lázaro Jeraldo was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Tomas Illescas sped through Titanes Mayas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lázaro Jeraldo. Lázaro Jeraldo came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Lázaro Jeraldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 44th minute of the match. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Venezuela were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teo Estavan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lázaro Jeraldo saved Titanes Mayas from getting behind. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lázaro Jeraldo having to interfere. Nicasio Felo was shown his second yellow card after 74 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Rigoberto Mina charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rigoberto Mina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 79 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. In the 80th minute of the match Alejandro Dolfos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 84 minutes, Hugo Lastur mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Titanes Mayas and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hugo Lastur hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Lázaro Jeraldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Venezuela supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Venezuela would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
