After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abi Russo in the 32nd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Abi Russo sent off a good shot on target. In the 85thth minute of the game Abi Russo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Abi Russo came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Efrain Moruga hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After having played for 94 minutes, Abi Russo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aysouraguán's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abi Russo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
