With an all-out effort, Candelaria FC's Marco Day threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Arnaldo Marquez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Candelaria FC were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after USA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marciano Lekubegi took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Bart Pellen managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cassius Byrne to strike the kick off in the second half. Koby Fletcher hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Marco Day didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marciano Lekubegi went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Cassius Byrnes short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Danilo Testa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The corner ended in Jenson Smith almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Candelaria FC's Danilo Testa did a great save. Khalid Parry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Testa having to interfere.
