An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 12th minute of play forced 1. FC Union Weberei's goalkeeper Heiner Studer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Nico Gruenewald could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. 26 minutes into the game, Maurice Weber threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Alex Chicote quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Heiner Studer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Owain Wollenmann in the 37th minute of the match. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Heiner Studer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Owain Wollenmann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patricio Costa in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Heiner Studer saved 1. FC Union Weberei from getting behind. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Heiner Studer skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 67th minute, Erik Hertzog got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 88 minutes into the game, Lindo Kran was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 1. FC Union Weberei's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. After 88 played minutes 1.
