In the 23rd minute, Isidoro Sarmiento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donato Balestra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 26th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arturo Di Matteo went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 31stth minute of the game Arturo Di Matteo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arturo Di Matteo in the 34th minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Abraham Alguacil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Yaniusky Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arturo Di Matteo in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Cotilla saved Panama from getting behind. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Di Matteo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Jose Carita got a throw-in 52 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Miguel Miralles. Yaniusky Pardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. Calenzano made a substitution. Ennio Daniele replaced Alessio Santini. Pierrot Leenpoels recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Donato Balestra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Alguacil in the 76th minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pierrot Leenpoels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the game, Calenzano's Pierrot Leenpoels nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Donato Balestra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Tomas Berganza hit a great ball. 91 minutes in the game, Pierrot Leenpoels fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Marcos Cotilla having to interfere. The supporters of Panama booed when Calenzano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessandro Giocondo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidoro Sarmiento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donato Balestra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
