S A R A Y's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miromir Kociniewski came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Svante Åberg in the 18th minute of play. S A R A Y were awarded a corner. Rüknettin Tosunoğlu went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ecuador's goalie and right to Svante Åberg. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ecuador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Miromir Kociniewski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Miromir Kociniewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 43rd minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after G . S A R A Y's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After the first half G . S A R A Y were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 53rd minute of play forced G . The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 67 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. In the 70th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. If Kamil Babacan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. Svante Åberg was extremely unlucky when he, in the 81st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Miromir Kociniewski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miromir Kociniewski was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The supporters of G . S A R A Y booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle went the supporters of G . S A R A Y were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Ecuador side.
