If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the game, Silvano Dalmu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fortinducto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Santos Rito to make the kick off. After having played for 55 minutes, Eliseo Noboa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseo Noboa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 57 in the game by Axel Tasis from a close distance when the talented Braulio Ledesma managed to make a qualified save. Fortinducto's players were relieved. When Armando Naelio fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fortinducto's protests and gave Armando Naelio a yellow card for diving instead. Braulio Ledesma made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Tasis in the 60th minute. Alexander Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fortinducto's goalkeeper Braulio Ledesma, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fortinducto's Braulio Ledesma proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Fortinducto from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan Moruga in the 81st minute of play forced Fortinducto's goalkeeper Braulio Ledesma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santos Rito in the 86th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Tasis got free with Braulio Ledesma in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
