Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Uruguay's Francisco Seco started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Seco in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christian Kerville prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Elderslie Magpies's zone, Jaime Cazalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Kerville came out of the goal and Jaime Cazalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot by Pere Villanueva from long distance, 15 minutes into the match, got Joaquin Gayoso's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Christian Kerville made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 16th minute of play. Neal Weatherby hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Elderslie Magpies's Neal Weatherby got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Elderslie Magpies booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ralph Gorham kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Camilo Franco got free with Christian Kerville in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gilberto Fernandes's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilberto Fernandes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 54th match minute, Elderslie Magpies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neal Weatherby in the 58th minute of play. In the 64th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 72 in the game by Francisco Seco from a close distance when the talented Christian Kerville managed to make a qualified save. Elderslie Magpies's players were relieved. One of Uruguay:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Elderslie Magpies:s goal. In the 87th minute, Alberto Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Pere Villanueva, made in the 90th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Francisco Seco put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Christian Kerville. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Neal Weatherby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elderslie Magpies's supporters rose to their feet, but Neal Weatherby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew the final whistle, Elderslie Magpies could leave the field as winners, despite Uruguay having more of the ball for most of the match.
