Stig-Åke Gabrielsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. Kuuno Tälli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Dumitru Doloman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dumitru Doloman was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Dumitru Doloman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Murillo went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The wind increased when Mario Jakobe made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Giga Popescu threw the ball into play from the sideline. With a little luck, Viola Invest's Dumitru Doloman got control of the ball when Milagros Fraga tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Dumitru Doloman managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Peru's Rafael Gallo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Viola Invest getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Jakub Jazowski hit a great ball. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dumitru Doloman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. The Peru supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peru would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
