Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tomas Illescas started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 4th minute of play forced Karaboudjan's goalkeeper Marcelinho Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Fernandinho Albuquerque sent off a good shot on target. Marcelinho Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 9th minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. If Fernandinho Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcelinho Abraão narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelinho Abraão having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Karaboudjan's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Marcelinho Abraão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. After 36 played minutes Karaboudjan got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Galvão. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 37th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Karaboudjan. In the 38th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelinho Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernandinho Albuquerque stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernandinho Albuquerque in the 54th minute of play. Karaboudjan were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Felippe Monteiro took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Felippe Monteiro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 59 minutes of play, Karaboudjan's Fernandinho Albuquerque made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! 61 minutes into the game, Wilson Bezerra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Karaboudjan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. In the 61st minute, Wilson Bezerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute Fernandinho Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 70th minute of play forced Karaboudjan's goalkeeper Marcelinho Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Marcelinho Abraão when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Fernandinho Albuquerque kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. After 80 minutes, Jose Correa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Karaboudjan players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Karaboudjan booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernandinho Albuquerque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aírton Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Karaboudjan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléberson Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karaboudjan walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
