AIK's Arvid Uggla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play. Arvid Uggla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arvid Uggla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 17th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hubert Vesterberg got free with Julio Vera in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Arvid Uggla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arvid Uggla having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arvid Uggla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonard Kjellqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arvid Uggla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Andino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arvid Uggla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arvid Uggla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. In the 46th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Arvid Uggla made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Sancho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Arvid Uggla skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hubert Vesterberg, 54 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Arvid Uggla, 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in AIK's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arvid Uggla came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 62 minutes into the match, AIK's goalkeeper Arvid Uggla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. The supporters of Ecuador booed when AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Mattsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. AIK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 72nd minute, when Antonio Arias scored to the left of an out of position Arvid Uggla, making the score, 1-2. Arvid Uggla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute of the match Hubert Vesterberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 93rd minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Arvid Uggla. The goal made the score 1-4. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
