Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Luis Andino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Nistor Pantelimon in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 63rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Baba Alba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Baba Alba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nistor Pantelimon showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Nistor Pantelimon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th match minute, Yellow Flag was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narcis Obreja to maneuver through the defense. 82 minutes into the match, Yellow Flag's goalkeeper Nistor Pantelimon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. With a little luck, Yellow Flag's Nistor Pantelimon got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
