An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 21st minute of play forced Galja Kraków's goalkeeper Bogdan Marek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zbyszek Pawelczyk in the 22nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Galja Kraków's zone, Julian Murillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bogdan Marek came out of the goal and Julian Murillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Bogdan Marek successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Bogdan Marek came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Luz Tejedor. But to his dismay, Luz Tejedor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvaro Arriba in the 43rd minute of the match. Julian Murillo scored 2-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bogdan Marek, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zbyszek Pawelczyk to make the kick off.
