Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Axel Tasis got the match started through his kick off. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when Tor-Kristian Fosse scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 1-0. Hugo Ferrant got a throw-in 21 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Lautaro Puig. In the 24th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Carballo to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jon Hesjedal in the 26th minute of play. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Christer Waaler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Alcocer to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute Tor-Kristian Fosse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. John-Einar Bøen was the one to do the kick off. Åsnes's defense didn't have a chance, in the 52nd minute, when Eliseo Noboa scored to the left of an out of position Christer Waaler, making the score, 2-1. In the 55th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute, John-Einar Bøen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Åsnes booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute, Axel Tasis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Åsnes's attentive Aleksander Ånestad managed to snatch the ball when Efrain Moruga made a throw-in in the 67th minute of the game. Christer Waaler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 70th minute of the match. When Tor-Kristian Fosse came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Åsnes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tor-Kristian Fosse couldn't finish the play. Tor-Kristian Fosse's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tor-Kristian Fosse helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th match minute, Åsnes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tor-Kristian Fosse to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the match, John-Einar Bøen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that John-Einar Bøen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 82 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Åsnes the free kick. After 82 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Moruga. In the 87thth minute of the game John-Einar Bøen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. John-Einar Bøen might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. John-Einar Bøen ran back to his position shaking his head. Åsnes's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
