Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tor-Kristian Fosse started the match with the kick off. A sloppy throw-in by Hugo Ferrant in the 3rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Åsnes's Kenneth Leidland. Christer Waaler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Tasis in the 4th minute of the match. Jon-Egil Gjelsvik hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Christer Waaler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 11 played minutes Åsnes got a freekick which was hit by John-Einar Bøen. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tor-Kristian Fosse's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Aaron Alcocer's late challenge caught a Åsnes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Alcocer helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th minute, Aaron Alcocer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Jon Hesjedal in the 41st minute really tested Benito Sanz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Tor-Kristian Fosse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Axel Tasis hit a great ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eliseo Noboa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Efrain Moruga made in the 54th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Åsnes's Jon-Egil Gjelsvik. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Åsnes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon-Egil Gjelsvik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Efrain Moruga got a throw-in 68 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Eliseo Noboa. Tobias Haugvaldstad hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. John-Einar Bøen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
