The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristian Sancho scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yanko Pirov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 6th match minute, GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wincent Furgat to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giro Campomanes in the 9th minute of play. GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gaizka Jaraba in the 11th minute. Gaizka Jaraba made a great header on GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Yanko Pirov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wincent Furgat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yanko Pirov narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 19th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Yanko Pirov. GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giro Campomanes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tirso Zamora hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yanko Pirov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Giro Campomanes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Yanko Pirov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Giro Campomanes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL's Giro Campomanes got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd minute of the match GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gaizka Jaraba ran over to the corner to take the kick. Tirso Zamora's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tirso Zamora helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Tirso Zamora hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Yanko Pirov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Daniel Zorita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Yanko Pirov. That made the score 0-3 after 76 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL's Tirso Zamora got a free kick in the 83rd minute. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giro Campomanes's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yanko Pirov having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giro Campomanes in the 89th minute of play. After having played for 95 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL throughout the match.
