Ulf Ros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Marcus Hagström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Conny Vesterberg went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Venezuela's Jose Correa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fredric Åhman in the 22 minute of the game. After having played for 24 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the match, Conny Vesterberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Conny Vesterberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After 36 played minutes Conny Vesterberg could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 4-0 into the left cross. Marcus Hagström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Fabiano Antonini's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabiano Antonini helped the player get up and apologised. Fabiano Antonini hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Conny Vesterberg made a kick off. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. The audience held their breath when Fredric Åhman in the 54th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Jonathan Ferrant's left hand side. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Conny Vesterberg's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conny Vesterberg in the 63rd minute of the match. The shot was a little too simple and Marcus Hagström could save by the left post. Marcus Hagström made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. In the 83rd minute of the match Michael Lundqvist shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rank 1! In the 86th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Rank 1's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Tomas Illescas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Rank 1's Marcus Hagström did a great save. Tomas Illescas in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcus Hagström, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 90th minute Fabiano Antonini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Rank 1's Conny Vesterberg in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
