Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Niek Kiewit quite easily take care of the ball. After having played for 8 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 10 minutes into the match, Overschie's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Niek Kiewit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led to Ecuador's Felix Montenegro getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The supporters of Overschie booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Niek Kiewit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Roger Buenos short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Niek Kiewit didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorn Krommert, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Overschie's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jan Rein Hindriks in the 60th minute. After 66 minutes Overschie's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. In the 94th match minute, Overschie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Houtman to maneuver through the defense. When Jorn Krommert came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Overschie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorn Krommert couldn't finish the play. Ecuador played a much better game than Overschie and deserved their victory. The Overschie players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
