Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Rune Gjessing ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Åsnes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steffen Askvik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Axel Tasis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 13 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Rune Gjessing came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 16 minutes, Abel Carballo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Åsnes players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 17 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. 17 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Morten Hestad came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rune Gjessing, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Steffen Askvik fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Åsnes's protests and gave Steffen Askvik a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Åsnes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steffen Askvik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Morten Hestad went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 29 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Morten Hestad came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 37 minutes into the game, Aaron Alcocer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Åsnes the free kick. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. In the 40th match minute, Åsnes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aleksander Ånestad to maneuver through the defense. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rune Gjessing in the 43rd minute of play. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rune Gjessing, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 45th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Alcocer to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Morten Hestad in the 47th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

50 minutes into the match, Åsnes's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Christer Waaler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 51st minute. Steffen Askvik kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Åsnes's Christer Waaler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 54th minute of play. Lautaro Puig's late challenge caught a Åsnes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Puig helped the player get up and apologised. Åsnes's Tobias Haugvaldstad was substituted for Kristian Sandersen. In the 58th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rune Gjessing, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rune Gjessing went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Morten Hestad's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Morten Hestad got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 66th minute. The score was now 0-5. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Morten Hestad in the 74th minute of play. If Rune Gjessing had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, John-Einar Bøen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Costa Rica's Axel Tasis couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 79th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Åsnes. Morten Hestad scored 0-6 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Lautaro Puig was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 84 minutes had been played. The supporters of Åsnes booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costa Rica's Abel Carballo got his second yellow card of the match in the 86th minute. The referee ordered Abel Carballo off the ground. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match.
