Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeu de Alcântara charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amadeu de Alcântara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th minute, Amadeu de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Grentino FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilton Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Falcão Sampaio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Falcão Sampaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gualter Sampaio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Grentino FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Ecuador's Cristian Sancho to a score. 0-1 in the 28th minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Amadeu de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 38th minute. 0-2 became the score in the 45th minute when Cristian Sancho elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erasmo Simão to make the kick off. Grentino FC's Erasmo Simão got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Grentino FC from getting a goal against them. If Joaquin Xacintu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Falcão Sampaio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Grentino FC from getting a goal against them. In the 70th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Falcão Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Sampaio having to interfere. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 78th minute of play. Falcão Sampaio made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Falcão Sampaio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 88th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erasmo Simão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Grentino FC's Froilan Calvino got a free kick in the 90th minute. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
